Yes, dear friends.  Philoxia has been sold.  The new owners take possession February 22, 2013.  This is a very good thing for us Philoxians as it allows us to move on to bigger and better things.  Check out local newspapers and media for up to date information as to what the new owners will be doing with this wonderful property over the coming months.

The sale of the property will not affect our candle making business.

Welcome to Philoxia ~ Home of the Philoxian's

Iilah and Tawlia Chickalo have privately owned, operated and developed Philoxia's 334 acre estate for over 34 years while keeping it all sweet and pure.

The Philoxia Estate is located in the little hamlet of Marlbank just north of Kingston, Ontario and is home to the Philoxians.

The Philoxians, meaning lovable strangers, are an ancient high mountain Carpathian people who have been the bearers of good fortune throughout centuries of time. What better name to give this most wonderful and unique property, while honoring the many old fashioned Chickalo family traditions, as passed down by Iilah's Baba (grandmother).

In 1994 and again in 2007 the Philoxian's experienced devastating fires that changed not only their way of life but how they would do business. Never to be undermined by setbacks, the Philoxian's perservered and put their lives and their business back on track.

2013 sees the Philoxian's making yet another significant change in their lives.  The beeswax candle business (Pheylonian Production Kohr.) will be moving to a new location and the Philoxian Estate featured here on this website has been put up for sale.
